Omelette or Omelet

Omelette or omelet is made from beaten eggs quickly cooked with butter or oil in a frying pan. They can be made plain, with just eggs or with a filling of your choice, such as cheese, bacon or vegetables. To obtain fluffy texture, sometimes eggs are beaten with a small amount of milk, cream or water. Omelette is always served as breakfast, but it is good to serve it at anytime in a day as a dish of any meal.

Omelette or Omelet recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Methods:

  • Crack eggs into a bowl. Beat till egg yolks and whites well mixed.
  • Add milk, and season with salt and pepper.
  • Whisk the eggs mixture until bubbles on the surface, this process beat the air in and makes your omelette fluffy.
  • Melt butter in pan with medium low heat. Tilt pan to coat bottom with butter.
  • Pour in egg mixture. Let the eggs cook until the bottom starts to set. With a spatula, gently push cooked portions toward the centre. Tilt and swirl the pan to allow the uncooked liquid egg to flow into the empty spaces. Repeat until there's no liquid left.
  • With your spatula, fold the omelette in half, slide it onto a plate.
  • Serve hot.

 

             *Note: Use a non-stick pan for easier cooking process and better result. Be patient and cook slowly.
