New Year Special: Roast Ham

Eating pork on New Year's is based on the idea that pigs symbolize progress. The animal pushes forward, rooting itself in the ground before moving. So people believe that eating pork during New Year will bring good luck. 

Roast Ham Recipe:

Ingredients:
  • 2 - 5 kg. smoked ham
  • 2 - 3 cup honey
  • ½ cup whole cloves
  • 1 medium clove garlic, finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup red wine
Baking method:

1.      In a large food storage bag, combine all ingredients accept ham, mix well.

2.      Place the ham in the marinade, turn to coat well, and let marinate for 5 hours or overnight in refrigerator.

3.      Place ham in a roasting pan, cover ham with foil or lid of roasting pan.

4.      Bake at 350-400 degrees until ham is brown.

5.      Baking time vary according to size.
