White Rice

Rice is everyday food for most Asian. So rice cooking almost becomes their daily work. Thanks to the great contribution of science and technology, rice cooker was invented. You can find rice cooker in almost every Asian’s home. Using a rice cooker to cook rice is rather simple and effective. But today, we are going to share with you the way of cooking rice without a rice cooker. We do know that not everyone have a rice cooker at home.

 

Rice Cooking...

  1. Prepare a pot with lid.
  2. Rinse the rice with water for 2 or 3 times to get rid of any dirt and impurities.
  3. For every cup of long grain rice, add 2 cups water.
  4. Bring the rice to boil, then cover the pot with lid and reduce the heat to simmer or very low flame.
  5. Let the rice cook with the pot covered for about 20 to 25 minutes or until the rice is no longer "wet". During this process, if the water boiling and overflow, keep the lid tilted to allow steam to escape.
  6. Remove pot from heat and let it sit covered for about 15 minutes.
  7. Then serve it with any dish.
